Waterfall Sokuluk is one of the highest and the most beautiful waterfalls of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too ridges. In the light of the sun, the waterfall acquires a bluish tint, and the spray plays a rainbow. After sunset the cascade of the waterfall looks like gray smoke. A 60-foot waterfall is located in 80 km South-West of the picturesque Bishkek to Sokuluk gorge (Belogorka) at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level.
Sokuluk waterfall called the most mysterious. No one knows where the source of his powerful flow, since there is no glacier or snowfield. To bathe in the waterfall is better in the summer when the air warms up to 35 degrees. It takes about 5-2 hours to get to the waterfall and goes along the river. The path offers breathtaking views of one of the peaks of the Kyrgyz range "Black spire" (4000 m.). The name Scala was due to the dark color which does not change in any weather.
The Sokuluk gorge has picturesque view in spring and summer, when the nearby green grove Turkestan birch, and the slopes of the gorge are covered with greenery and flowers. Moreover, during this time there are ripe strawberries, wild raspberries, blackberries and other berries. The gorge serves as a home for the wild animals, porcupines, mountain goats, wolves, which can be seen in the early morning or after sunset.
1.5 hours walk from the first waterfall is a small waterfall Sokuluk, 7-8 meters in height. Earlier there were a lot of waterfalls, but now they are almost gone.
